Our trip to Kelham Island
By Sabah A, Aliyah G and Aleesha S

On Wednesday 9th November, Y6 Amber Class went to Kelham Island and we learnt some fascinating facts about the Sheffield Floods in 2007 and 1864.Unfortunately, we couldn’t go straight away as it was snowing in the morning. Luckily, we went at 12:15pm and started walking straight to Kelham Island.

After we walked to the Wicker, we saw lots of pubs such as the Fat Cat. Near the Fat Cat, there was a mark where the water went up to in 2007 and 1864. We walked around the memorial where there was lots of names of people that died during the Sheffield flood. As we carried on we walked across Lady Bridge and around the roundabout.  We were lucky enough to see a stone carved with a line that represented the Dale Dyke Dam flooding.
