As part of our topic work on light and dark Nursery had a visit from Safari Sam on 8th November. We met lots of different animals, many of whom like to sleep during the day. There were stick insects, lizards and mice; a frog who changes colour at night, a long, slithery, stripy snake and a shy, prickly hedgehog called Mushroom. Some of us were a bit nervous at first but Catherine encouraged us to hold and stroke all of the animals so that we could look at them more closely and feel their skin. It was a fantastic experience for us all and we learnt lots about the different animals we met.
