Pupil Safety
As you know, we are working closely with stakeholders, the local community and with the School Streets scheme to make the streets outside school safer for families and local residents at the start and end of the school day.
We need all our families to be able to pick up and drop off their children safely. This means all drivers need to follow the legal restrictions on parking and stopping outside the school. It is against the law to stop your car on double yellow lines or school entrance markings (zig zag lines). Please find a safe place to park away from the school entrances and the road crossings. It is dangerous for families to cross between parked cars.
Double yellow lines indicate a prohibition of waiting at any time. You MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on double yellow lines or school entrance markings. That means drivers who park on double yellow lines could be issued with hefty fines.
Let’s work together to keep all our children and families safe. If you must drive to school park safely away from the school entrances and walk your child to the gate.
School Streets
We are delighted to announce that the council have decided that a school street is the best solution for keeping everybody safe at the beginning and end of the school day. We look forward to seeing this implemented in the next couple of months.
