On the 15th and 16th February Year 5 got the chance to take a historical trip along the River Nile during an Ancient Egyptian workshop. The children became archaeologists for a day, uncovering ancient artefacts and discovering buried tombs. We transported ourselves back in time using freeze frames to imagine what life was like and some of the stories behind the artefacts we discovered. Then in the afternoon, we journeyed up the Nile, learning about myths and legends from different cities and acting them out using our amazing acting skills. We ended the day with a fabulous feast of Ancient Egyptian treats. Some of the more adventurous among us even tried the surprise parcels wrapped in vine leaves!
